'Yukiko Shinkai.' She's still not used to that name. It feels strange and foreign to her. Seventeen years growing up, being told that whoever she marries will need to take her family name to inherit the Amagi inn, and it all goes up in smoke because the inn needed a financial backer, badly... and had wanted something precious in return.
Her parents had, much to her shock, acquiesced. Yukiko still can't believe it. Part of her wishes she'd just run, but she could never betray her family, biological or otherwise, at the inn.
Which is why she's married now. To be blunt, it's not great. Her husband's not unattractive, true, but he's so much older than her.
And sometimes he's rough. She doesn't know how to deal with it. If she fights back too much, he just threatens her family and the inn.
More than ever, she feels like a caged bird. Only this time there's no Investigation Team coming to save her.
