She follows him (what choice does she have) to the window, where she has a sinking feeling that she knows what he's going to do. And she's right. Though this particular brand of exhibitionism is fairly unique, it's not the first time he's made her do something in view of the neighbors and the street, or fucked her in plain sight.
And yet not one of them ever does or says anything. Perhaps they're afraid of him. Perhaps they think that what a husband does to his wife is none of their business.
There are definitely a few people in the street walking past. She thinks she sees one or two look up at the window. Maybe she's imagining it, standing on the tips of her toes lest the chain feel like it's tugging the rings out of her skin. Discomfort doesn't even begin to describe it.
Why is this man so cruel? Every time he seems like he's about to show her kindness, he only switches it around for more cruelty.
